Traffic? How do you like it

Stop or Go? Traffic… Do you like it?

I was sitting at the Stop sign at Walmart and the traffic was terrible! I almost thought for a minute I might just reach down and slip the Dodge into 4wd, jump the curb, drive through the ditch to the secondary road.

After all, I was running late for an appointment! But as the case was I simply sat and waited. It was hot and the A/C had not fully cooled the Truck off after my shopping trip to Wally World!

I had gone there on a Search and purchase mission. You see, my son’s truck needed new tires, and I thought what the heck, let’s look at Walmart! The place was packed! It was like a Black Friday in August.

And for all that know me, I want what I want and I want it now… that means in easy terms, I hate waiting!

Traffic… Walmart… come on! Let’s get real! People… don’t they know who I am? LOL? But the reality is, we are all as marketers, if you are one, in a love hate relationship with Traffic… we hate it when we’re driving, and love it when we are advertising.

How can one word have such drastically different meanings?
Maybe Traffic and Patents should go together.

As I Sat waiting for Traffic to clear, I did notice something odd. There were two people sitting on the curb in the Island by the Stop sign. They had their back packs, and were Dirty, with old torn shirts and ragged jeans. I wondered what their story was!

I mean, what event has taken them to this point in life to be adrift, on the road, homeless with just the contents of their back packs and some old worn out clothes!

I thought for a moment that I should just stop and ask! Then I saw the sign, “I will work for food”!

That made me think… ok another one of them… too lazy to work… just sitting out in the traffic trying to mooch off people! After all, how many of those scenes have I seen before!

The Scene was perfect, and their location was as well. A busy intersection, the correct attire… they had this planned out!

I found it funny that a proper advertising campaign, one that is profitable has some of the same fundamentals as this scene I was looking at…. “At the Stop Sign”!

I know how to train people for ads and traffic… and I know the best sources!

But what was their Source?

What was the true Story… and my Question to myself “did they Touch me with their advertising”?

Did they speak to that desire to serve that is at my very core?

I did not know… I almost felt confused, torn… should I stop or should I go!
Well the traffic cleared, and I had to make that decision… Pull over or Drive on!

It was 50/50!

I decided to…. Pull over!

I had the chance of a life time… to hear about how a family made a few bad decisions… and ran up some huge debt… that caused a total financial meltdown… and landed them on the street.

They even had their old bills to prove in part their story!

To make this short… I believed them, and they touched my heart!

I did have some cash on me so I made a generous donation to their cause… and went on my way!

Allot can be learned from stopping and thinking! A lot can be gained by asking for help, and Traffic can be every man’s friend!

Traffic, give me the opportunity to serve… and even though no sale was made on my part, they made a sale and more importantly… two lives was changed.

Perhaps only for a short while, but who knows!
I know people, I know traffic and how to work it… in life and in business… if you need help, I am here to guide and serve you!

So stop and ask… I am listening
